DigiScotFest – North! 7 October 2014

June in Edinburgh saw Scotland’s first digital participation ‘unconference’ – a day on which SCVO brought together practitioners, volunteers, representatives from across the third sector, academics, policy-makers and influencers to talk about all things digital.

The energy, drive and commitment for supporting people not just to get online but to make digital work for them whatever their needs and interests, was a force felt by everyone in the room. The opportunity to meet people working in all different fields and from all different backgrounds brought fresh perspectives, new ideas, the sharing of experiences and the seeds of plans and partnerships for times ahead.

So we’re very pleased to be part of DigiScotFest North in Strathpeffer on 7 October, using the findings of our inquiry to provide some context for the day. We’re looking forward to hearing about what’s going on in the Highlands and getting involved in discussions on the way ahead. With lots of developments from SCVO since June on the Digital Participation Charter, the Challenge Fund and Let’s Get On, and workshops with Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Citizens Online among others, there will be lots to learn and lots to take forward.

Visit the SCVO website for full details of the event and free registration. We hope to see you there!
